Jörg Kukies

Jörg Kukies is a former German politician from the SPD (Social Democratic Party) who previously held significant positions in the government. Before entering politics, he spent nearly two decades working for Goldman Sachs. In 2018, he became State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance under Olaf Scholz. When Scholz became Chancellor, Kukies followed him to the Federal Chancellery as his personal representative, involved in matters such as the G7. He is currently newsworthy because he is returning to the investment banking sector, joining Morgan Stanley in May. After receiving approval from the German government, Kukies will initially work in London for six months before becoming the head of Morgan Stanley for Germany and Austria, as well as the head of the bank's European operations in November.
