Kwok Yin-sang

Kwok Yin-sang, a 68-year-old Hong Kong resident, is the father of Anna Kwok Fung-yee, a US-based Hong Kong pro-democracy activist wanted by Hong Kong authorities. He is newsworthy because he was recently convicted under Hong Kong's domestic national security law (Article 23) for attempting to cash out an insurance policy worth over HK$88,000 in his daughter's name. This marks the first conviction under Article 23. The prosecution argued that Kwok Yin-sang knew his daughter was classified as a wanted person and that the funds were considered her assets. Anna Kwok has stated that the authorities are targeting her family to silence her activism.
