Lluís Puig

Lluís Puig is a former Culture Minister of the Generalitat of Catalonia. He is currently newsworthy due to his involvement in a legal dispute concerning the Romanesque murals of Sijena. Along with four other former Culture Ministers (Ferran Mascarell, Laura Borràs, Àngels Ponsa, and Joan Manuel Tresserras), Puig has filed a criminal complaint against the judge overseeing the transfer of the murals from the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) in Barcelona to the Monastery of Santa María de Sijena in Huesca. The ex-ministers argue that the transfer poses a significant risk of damage or destruction to the valuable artworks.
