Marcelo Salinas

Marcelo Salinas is the Defence Minister of Bolivia. He is newsworthy due to his role as the official spokesperson regarding a recent tragic plane crash. A Bolivian Air Force Hercules C-130 transport plane, carrying newly printed Bolivian currency, crashed near La Paz, Bolivia. Salinas confirmed that the plane "landed and veered off the runway" at an airport in El Alto, ultimately crashing onto a busy highway. The crash resulted in at least 15-20 fatalities and numerous injuries, also damaging several vehicles.
