Marisa Campano

Marisa Campano, originally from Malaga but residing in Madrid, is a colon cancer survivor whose story is being highlighted to emphasize the importance of early cancer screening. She received a letter from the health department inviting her to participate in a colon cancer screening program, which led to the discovery and surgical removal of a tumor in her colon four years ago, on February 24th, the same day the war in Ukraine began. Her experience, along with that of Joaquin Ortega, is being used to promote the effectiveness of these screening programs in detecting colon cancer early, significantly improving survival rates. Campano's case underscores the potentially life-saving impact of participating in recommended cancer screenings, and serves as a public health message.
