Michalis Katrinis

Michalis Katrinis is a Greek fisherman who, along with others, discovered a naval drone carrying explosives in the Ionian Sea near Lefkada. The unmanned vessel was found in a cave with its engine still running. Greek authorities were alerted and subsequently conducted a controlled detonation of the explosives after rendering the drone safe by removing its detonators and battery. The drone is suspected to be of Ukrainian origin, and its appearance in Greek waters has prompted investigations by specialized military teams and raised questions about Greece's maritime security. The incident has led to a scramble by Greek authorities to explain how such a device ended up in their waters.
