Mikaela Shiffrin

Mikaela Shiffrin is an American Olympic and World Cup alpine ski racer. She is currently newsworthy for winning the overall Alpine Ski World Cup title for the sixth time in her career, equalling the women's record. Throughout the season, Shiffrin faced strong competition from German skier Emma Aicher, with the overall title race coming down to the final races. Shiffrin acknowledged Aicher's talent and predicted a bright future for her. In the final slalom race, Aicher made a critical error, securing Shiffrin's victory.
