Neil Heslin

Neil Heslin is a parent of one of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. He, along with other victims' families, sued conspiracy theorist Alex Jones for defamation. Jones repeatedly claimed the shooting was a hoax and that the victims' families were crisis actors. Heslin's son, Jesse Lewis, was one of the 26 people killed in the tragedy. Heslin and other families were awarded substantial judgments against Jones in both Texas and Connecticut for the emotional distress and harm caused by his false claims. Recently, a Texas appeals court reduced a $50 million judgment against Jones to $1.5 million in one of these cases, though a separate $1.4 billion judgment in Connecticut remains.
