Nelson Haase Mazzei

Nelson Haase Mazzei is a retired Chilean colonel who was recently jailed in connection with the 1973 murder of folk singer Víctor Jara. He is the last individual wanted in the case. In 2023, Haase Mazzei and six other retired soldiers were sentenced in absentia for the murders of Jara and another man. He fled from authorities shortly after the sentencing.
