Àngels Ponsa

Àngels Ponsa is a former Minister of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya. She is currently newsworthy due to her involvement in a legal dispute concerning the Romanesque murals of Sijena. Ponsa, along with four other former Catalan Ministers of Culture (Lluís Puig, Joan Manuel Tresserras, Ferran Mascarell, and Laura Borràs), has filed a criminal complaint against the judge overseeing the execution of the court order to return the murals from the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) to the Monastery of Santa María de Sijena in Huesca. The ex-ministers argue that the transfer poses a significant risk of damage or destruction to the artworks. This action has been criticized as political interference in the judicial process. The Ayuntamiento of Villanueva de Sijena has requested the court to reject the complaint.
