Oriol Cardona is a Spanish ski mountaineer from Banyoles, notable for his achievements in the sport. He is a double Olympic medalist from the recent Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. Cardona's recent newsworthiness stems from two key events. Firstly, he narrowly missed winning the World Cup title in ski mountaineering, finishing third in the Sprint event in Villars-sur-Ollon after experiencing difficulties with his ski skins. This prevented him from retaining his previous World Cup crown.
