Owen Flowers

Owen Flowers, an 18-year-old British national, has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a significant cyber-attack on Transport for London (TfL) that occurred in 2024. Alongside Thalha Jubair, Flowers was part of the Scattered Spider hacking group. The attack compromised TfL's IT systems, granting them access to sensitive data and causing considerable disruption. The incident resulted in the theft of data belonging to millions of commuters, financial losses for Londoners, and required 27,000 TfL staff to reset their passwords. The cybercriminals held "keys to the kingdom" for four days, leaving the transport network vulnerable. The total cost of the attack is estimated at £39 million and affected approximately 10 million people. Both Jubair and Flowers entered their guilty pleas under the Computer Misuse Act at Woolwich crown court, marking a significant development in the investigation by the National Crime Agency.
