Qiu Zilong

Qiu Zilong is a Chinese biologist and neuroscientist who made important contributions in gene therapy for autism. In 2016, while working at the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, he and his team created the first genetically modified monkeys that showed autistic behaviour. After developing a gene therapy technique for Rett syndrome, he founded a company, Lanqi Xintu Gene Technology, in 2023.
