Ravinder Athwal

Ravinder Athwal, an economist noted for writing the Labour Party's 2024 manifesto, has recently been appointed to a senior advisory role under John Healey. This appointment is significant as it comes at a time when the Chancellor is looking to bolster his team ahead of a critical budget on October 28th. The economy is currently facing challenges, including high oil prices and increasing government borrowing costs. Athwal's move into this senior position is likely to intensify speculation about a potential early general election, as the Labour Party appears to be preparing its economic strategy and team for future electoral contests.
