Rory Whipple

Rory Whipple was one of eleven individuals who survived a plane crash in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida. The survivors were adrift on a life raft for approximately five hours, with no communication and uncertain of rescue. A military rescue crew from the 920th Rescue Wing, based at Patrick Space Force Base, successfully located and saved all eleven people. The rescue operation was described as "pretty miraculous" by the crew, who themselves faced a critical fuel shortage, returning to base with only five minutes of fuel remaining.
