Saint Zdislava of Lemberk

Saint Zdislava of Lemberk was a medieval Czech noblewoman and saint, venerated for her piety and charitable works. She lived in the 13th century and is particularly associated with the town of Jablonné v Podještědí. Her relic, an 800-year-old skull, recently became newsworthy due to a theft from the basilica of St Lawrence and St Zdislava. The relic was stolen from a display shrine and police launched a manhunt for the suspect. Fortunately, law enforcement successfully recovered the skull, which had been encased in concrete by the alleged thief. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident. The recovery of this significant religious artifact highlights the ongoing reverence for Saint Zdislava and the value placed on her relics within the Czech Republic and among believers.
