Shaath Mohammad Qeshta

Shaath Mohammad Qeshta was a Palestinian photojournalist working in Gaza. He, along with Abdul Ra’ouf and Anas Ghunaim, were killed on January 21, 2026, during an Israeli air strike. At the time of the attack, Qeshta and his colleagues were working for an Egyptian aid group, documenting a newly established camp in Gaza. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that the journalists' vehicle was directly hit. Qeshta's death, along with the deaths of the other journalists and other Palestinians, has drawn attention to the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the risks faced by journalists operating in the region. The incident is part of a broader series of Israeli attacks on Gaza that resulted in at least 11 Palestinian deaths, including two children, and six injuries, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
