Sona

Sona, a white tiger, has recently begun a new life in a sanctuary located in Villena, Alicante, Spain. This 3-meter long feline was previously considered the last circus tiger in Portugal, having spent 16 years in captivity within a cramped 9-square-meter trailer. The rescue operation was carried out two weeks ago by the AAP Foundation and Pangea Trust. Sona's relocation marks a significant development, transitioning him from a life of performance and confinement to a more natural and protected environment. His story highlights the ongoing efforts to rescue and rehome animals from exploitative situations in the entertainment industry, providing them with a chance at a better quality of life in specialized sanctuaries.
