Steve Witkoff

Steve Witkoff is the U.S. special envoy involved in mediating international conflicts under the Trump administration. He is currently newsworthy due to his efforts to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine, as well as his involvement in a U.S.-backed Gaza ceasefire plan. Witkoff recently held "productive and constructive meetings" with Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev in Florida, ahead of trilateral talks between the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi. These talks, however, have been delayed. Witkoff is also involved in the Gaza ceasefire plan, where he and President Trump believe Hamas will disarm, despite skepticism from regional analysts and Hamas officials.
