Recent news highlights two individuals with Chinese surnames. One, an aerospace engineer surnamed Zhu, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for espionage. State media reported that Zhu, who holds a PhD from a top university and has worked in multiple aerospace research institutions since 2018, was allegedly lured into sending aerospace secrets overseas. In a separate incident, a man surnamed Xue from Yunnan province climbed out of his 27th-floor apartment after consuming self-cooked magic mushrooms. He reportedly experienced hallucinations and believed his family was inviting him to "train himself to cross the tribulation and attain immortality," a concept found in Chinese fantasy novels. These distinct events, one involving national security and the other a bizarre personal incident, have recently captured public attention.
