Rescuers among three dead after yacht sinks off Australian coast
Three people died off the coast of New South Wales, Australia, on Monday evening after a yacht encountered trouble and a rescue boat capsized. A Marine Rescue NSW crew of six responded to a report of a yacht in distress near South Ballina. Their rescue boat overturned while crossing the Ballina Bar in rough seas, resulting in the deaths of two rescuers, aged 78 and 62. A third man, in his mid-50s and not wearing a life jacket, was found deceased on the nearby sand. The incident highlights the dangers faced by volunteer rescuers.
