'You are my god', Japan's PM tells British rock band Deep Purple
Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, a self-proclaimed Deep Purple superfan, met with the British rock band in Tokyo on Friday during their tour of Japan. Takaichi, who played drums in a Deep Purple tribute band as a child, presented drummer Ian Paice with signed drumsticks. She expressed her deep admiration for the band's continued contribution to rock music and hoped their tour would excite fans and promote cultural exchange between the UK and Japan. Deep Purple recorded their iconic live album "Made in Japan" in Japan in 1972. Takaichi told the band that she drums to their song "Burn" when she fights with her husband.
