Judge declares another mistrial in Harvey Weinstein New York rape charge
A judge declared a mistrial in the New York rape case against Harvey Weinstein after the jury reported it was deadlocked. This is the third time a New York jury has deliberated on the charges against the 74-year-old former film producer. The month-long trial focused on allegations that Weinstein raped aspiring actress Jessica Mann in a hotel room over a decade ago. A previous conviction in this case was overturned, and a mistrial was declared in a subsequent trial last year. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg stated that prosecutors are considering whether to pursue a retrial and will consult with Mann. Weinstein is currently jailed on other charges.
