Israel escalates attacks on medics in Lebanon with deadly ‘quadruple tap’

In Mayfadoun, Southern Lebanon, Israeli forces conducted a series of airstrikes on Wednesday that killed four medics and wounded six others. The attacks targeted paramedics responding to an initial strike, with subsequent strikes hitting ambulances and medical personnel as they attempted to rescue the wounded. Medical sources reported that the victims were from three different ambulance corps, including the Hezbollah-affiliated IHA, Amal-affiliated medical corps, and the Nabatieh emergency services organization. The incident has been described as a "quadruple tap," referring to the multiple consecutive strikes. Under international law, medics are protected as non-combatants, regardless of political affiliation.

In southern Lebanon on Wednesday, three Israeli attacks killed at least three paramedics and wounded others. Lebanese officials accuse Israel of deliberately targeting health workers amid the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah. The initial attack targeted a team from the Islamic Health Association in Mayfadoun, followed by a second strike on a rescue team sent to the same location. Subsequently, ambulances from the Risala Scout Association and Nabatieh Ambulance Service were also attacked. Among the deceased was Fadel Serhan, a paramedic recently featured in a BBC report highlighting the dangers faced by medical personnel in the region. The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incidents.
