Lebanon says Israeli strikes kill 7 as Hezbollah condemns talks

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon on Sunday resulted in the deaths of seven people, including an Islamic Jihad commander, according to Lebanese authorities and state media. The strikes occurred in several southern towns, with Tayr Felsay and Tayr Debba reporting three and two fatalities respectively, including children. Eleven people were wounded in these attacks, and four more were injured in other southern locations. These actions took place despite a fragile ceasefire. Meanwhile, Hezbollah characterized US-brokered talks between Lebanon and Israel as a "dead end."

At least five people were killed and over a dozen injured in Israeli air attacks on several locations in southern and eastern Lebanon on Sunday. These attacks occurred in municipalities including Tayr Felsay, Tayr Debba, Az-Zrariyah, and Jebchit, and a separate strike on Jouaiya also resulted in at least three deaths. The Israeli military also issued forced displacement orders to residents in several southern Lebanese villages. This escalation of violence followed talks in Washington where Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a 45-day ceasefire extension, though the original accord had not been observed. Since March 2, Lebanese health officials report at least 2,988 people have been killed and 9,210 injured in Israeli attacks across Lebanon.
