At least nine people killed, dozens wounded in Russian attacks on Ukraine
Russia launched a large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine, deploying 656 drones and 73 missiles. Ukrainian authorities reported that at least 12 people were killed and dozens wounded across the country, including in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv. The attacks occurred days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a major Russian assault. Kyiv's mayor stated four people died and 58 were injured in the capital, while Dnipropetrovsk's governor reported eight deaths and 36 injuries. Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed the strikes targeted Ukraine's military-industrial complex and infrastructure. In a separate incident, a Ukrainian drone strike reportedly killed one person in Russia's Kursk region.
