Tony awards 2026: Death of a Salesman triumphs, as Lesley Manville and John Lithgow also win

Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" was the dominant force at the 2026 Tony Awards, securing six wins including Best Revival of a Play. Lesley Manville and John Lithgow took home lead acting awards for their performances in "Oedipus" and "Giant," respectively. "Schmigadoon!" won Best Musical, while a new take on "Ragtime" earned four awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. Bess Wohl's "Liberation" was honored as Best Play. "Schmigadoon!" took home awards for original score and book of a musical, with music and lyrics by Cinco Paul. The award for best play went to "Liberation" by Bess Wohl, while "Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman" was honored for direction of a play by Joe Mantello.
