Driver injured after truck was struck by United plane landing at Newark airport
A United Airlines Boeing 767 landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday afternoon struck a delivery truck on the New Jersey Turnpike. The plane, arriving from Venice, Italy, clipped a landing tire and the underside of the truck, which was carrying bread products. The truck driver, Warren Boardley, sustained minor cuts from broken glass and was treated and released from a hospital. The aircraft also hit a light pole, which then struck a Jeep. Officials reported only minor damage to the plane, and airport operations quickly resumed. No injuries were reported on the aircraft.
