Russian attacks kill three in Ukraine as Kyiv hits another oil refinery
Overnight Russian attacks in southeastern Ukraine killed at least three people and injured over a dozen, with strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region damaging five petrol stations and killing one woman, while two people died in Zaporizhzhia. Concurrently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Ukraine expanded its long-range drone campaign, striking an oil refinery in Ufa and a military-industrial complex facility in Penza, Russia. Zelenskyy described these strikes as a "just response" to Russian actions. This escalation follows Russia's claim of shooting down 419 Ukrainian drones the previous day. Ukraine also recently signed a contract with Sweden for 16 used Gripen E fighter jets, expected to be transferred in 2027.
