Canada’s Carney wants Andrew removed from UK line of succession over Epstein ties

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has publicly stated that Prince Andrew should be removed from the British line of succession due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein. Carney described Andrew's actions as "deplorable," referencing the former Duke's past removal of royal titles and recent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Carney made the statement to reporters in Tokyo. Removing Andrew from the line of succession would require an act of parliament and agreement from Commonwealth realms like Canada. While Andrew has denied wrongdoing regarding his ties to Epstein, he has not addressed the latest allegations directly.

Carney emphasized the importance of the "point of principle" even though Mountbatten-Windsor is far down the line of succession. Australia and New Zealand have also expressed support for his removal.
