Eight charged with murder conspiracy over alleged White House UFC attack plot
Eight men have been indicted on murder and terrorism conspiracy charges for allegedly plotting a drone and sniper attack on a UFC cage-fighting show at the White House in June. The indictment, filed in Ohio, charges the defendants with two conspiracies: providing material support to terrorists and committing murder on federal territory and of a federal official. The plot reportedly began in May with the group amassing weapons, explosives, drones, and other equipment. Law enforcement became aware of the threat days before the event, leading to arrests across several states. According to an affidavit, the defendants harbored fringe conspiracy theories and intended to destabilize the government. One defendant allegedly planned to use explosive-laden drones and then shoot fleeing attendees.
