Bangkok pub fire death toll rises to 32 with 15 in intensive care
The death toll from a fire at the Rong Beer Na Ladprao live music pub in Bangkok has risen to 32, with two additional fatalities confirmed. Thirty people remain hospitalized, 15 of whom are in intensive care units, while 44 have been discharged. The blaze, which broke out late Sunday night, is Thailand's deadliest in 17 years. Firefighters took 30 minutes to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit in an air conditioner, though combustible acoustic materials are also being considered. Police are investigating potential negligence, including whether emergency exits were obstructed, as many victims were found trapped in windowless bathrooms. Survivors and victims' families are providing statements and seeking compensation.
