Vandal demands peanut butter sandwich to end Australian bridge stand-off
On Tuesday in Melbourne, Australia, a man scaled the eastern tower of the Bolte Bridge, a 140-meter-high cantilever bridge. He painted a large cartoon bird on the structure, causing disruption to morning commuter traffic. The man created a stand-off with police by refusing to descend and demanding a peanut butter sandwich be delivered by drone. A lane on the bridge was closed as a result of the incident. Victoria Police confirmed the man remained in a restricted area and was refusing police directions to come down.
