Israeli attacks on eastern Lebanon village kill at least 12 people
Israeli air attacks on the village of Mashghara in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley late Monday killed at least 12 people and wounded others, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency. The Israeli military stated it struck over 100 Hezbollah infrastructure sites and "terrorists" in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon. These intensified strikes, authorized by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are seen as a pressure campaign against Hezbollah, aiming to deter its use of explosive drones targeting Israeli troops and positions. The attacks occurred as a US-brokered ceasefire faces growing strain. Other southern Lebanese towns also experienced heavy Israeli artillery bombardment.
