Couple who staged apparent proposal atop Empire State Building faces slew of charges
Two Russian "rooftoppers," Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov, were arrested on Wednesday after allegedly scaling the Empire State Building and staging an apparent marriage proposal at its spire. The pair, known for their urban exploration stunts, unfurled a peace banner and kissed at the summit. They were arraigned on Thursday on multiple charges, including reckless endangerment, burglary, and criminal trespass. Investigators are working to determine how they accessed the building's upper levels. The owners of the Empire State Building stated they prefer couples to propose through more conventional means.
