Israeli air strike in Gaza City kills family of six, medics say
An Israeli air strike in Gaza City's western al-Sabra neighborhood killed a family of six, including Firas al-Masri, his wife Salsabeel, and their four children. The Israeli military stated the strike targeted a Hamas operative and that they are investigating the outcome. Medics confirmed the deaths, and video showed the family's apartment on fire. Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry reported that at least 1,168 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire last October, while four Israeli soldiers have died in Palestinian attacks during the same period. The UN's human rights office condemned the recent increase in Israeli military attacks in Gaza, noting that between July 13 and 20, at least 57 Palestinians were killed in strikes on residential buildings and other crowded areas.
