Russia and Ukraine trade attacks, killing 10, including child in Chernihiv

Russia and Ukraine have reported casualties from reciprocal attacks. Kyiv stated that Russian strikes killed six people, including a child at a supermarket in Chernihiv, and wounded 25 others. Ukrainian officials reported that Russia launched seven ballistic missiles and 136 drones overnight, hitting Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv. In the occupied city of Horlivka, Moscow claimed Ukrainian drone strikes killed four people. In Kharkiv, a daytime drone attack resulted in one death and 16 injuries. Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv early Sunday, causing fires and wounding at least three civilians. Later attacks in other parts of Ukraine resulted in at least two deaths. Concurrently, Kremlin-installed authorities in Russian-occupied eastern Ukraine reported that a Ukrainian drone strike killed four civilians in Horlivka. Russia's defense ministry stated its forces intercepted 133 Ukrainian drones over Russia, the Black Sea, and Crimea overnight. These events occur amidst Ukraine's successful drone attacks that have reportedly stalled Russian advances and increased pressure on Russian leadership.

At least 15 people were killed in Russian attacks across Ukraine. Ten died in ballistic missile strikes on a drone technology exhibition near Kyiv, which also injured approximately 100 people. Prominent members of the Ukrainian defense industry attended the event. In the eastern city of Sloviansk, five people were killed by Russian glide bombs. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported intelligence indicating Russia was preparing another large missile strike. Separately, a Ukrainian strike in the Russian city of Kirov killed six people and wounded 26.

Russian attacks across Ukraine have resulted in at least three deaths and 17 injuries. In the Donetsk region, 19 attacks over the past 24 hours killed two people and wounded four, damaging numerous residential buildings and an infrastructure facility. Fighting in Donetsk also led to the evacuation of over 800 people, including children. A separate drone attack in the Sumy region killed one woman in her home. Russia has claimed a Ukrainian drone attack killed a worker at the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. Simultaneously, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian drone attacks on Odesa injured at least 11 people, including two children, and damaged homes, infrastructure, and the port. Odesa's governor stated that the attacks affected multiple districts, hitting residential buildings, civilian facilities, and the funicular railway. In the Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian Governor Ivan Fedorov reported a civilian death and hundreds of Russian strikes across settlements. Russia also reported Ukrainian drone attacks in its Belgorod border region, resulting in one death and injuries.
