Heavy rainfall kills dozens in Ghana, Ivory Coast
Dozens of people have died in Ghana and Ivory Coast due to torrential rains that triggered floods and landslides. In Ghana's capital, Accra, at least 12 people were confirmed dead as of Tuesday, with more people still missing. Fire crews rescued over 400 individuals, pumping water from homes and assisting stranded residents. The heavy rainfall began on Monday in Ghana and Saturday in Ivory Coast, where a source close to firefighters indicated around 20 deaths. Ghana's Interior Minister acknowledged that the government's response could have been improved.
