Supreme court says Palestine Action co-founder can challenge ban on group
The UK's Supreme Court has granted Huda Ammori, co-founder of Palestine Action, permission to challenge the ban on her group. Palestine Action was proscribed as a terrorist organization in July of last year. Initially, the High Court ruled the ban unlawful, finding it disproportionate, but this decision was overturned by the Court of Appeal. The Supreme Court will hear Ammori's appeal in the final quarter of this year. This ruling leaves the legal status of over 3,500 individuals arrested for alleged support of the group unresolved, as their cases are currently on hold pending the final determination of the ban's legality.
