Chairman of South Korean tech giant SK ordered to pay $640 million in divorce case
A South Korean court has ordered SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won to pay his ex-wife, Roh So-yeong, 944 billion won ($640 million) in a divorce settlement. This ruling by the Seoul High Court follows a Supreme Court order for further review of the case. The awarded amount is lower than a previous high court settlement of 1.38 trillion won ($940 million), and Chey was also ordered to pay 2 billion won ($1.3 million) in alimony. Chey, who revealed an extramarital affair and child in 2017, married Roh in 1988. The case, dubbed the "divorce of the century," may be appealed to the Supreme Court.
