Indonesia arrests Malaysia Airlines pilot for smuggling drugs into Jakarta

Indonesian authorities have arrested a 39-year-old Malaysia Airlines pilot, identified as MS, at Jakarta's international airport for allegedly smuggling over 26 kilograms of ecstasy and a package of methamphetamine. The pilot was reportedly on duty and under the influence of narcotics at the time of his arrest. Customs officers discovered the suspicious suitcase during an X-ray screening shortly after his flight from Kuala Lumpur landed. The pilot allegedly admitted to transporting drugs on two previous occasions and was promised 50,000 Malaysian ringgit for this shipment. Drug tests also indicated the pilot had methamphetamine, ecstasy, and cocaine in his system. Malaysia Airlines is cooperating with the investigation, and authorities are working to uncover the broader trafficking network.
