British man, 86, injured during running of the bulls festival in Pamplona

An 86-year-old British man from Halesowen, West Midlands, was among 57 people injured during the recent running of the bulls festival in Pamplona, Spain. He was hospitalized on the final morning of the eight-day event after sustaining injuries to his hand, elbow, and eyebrow, though he was not believed to be seriously hurt. The annual festival, known as Sanfermines, involves participants racing through the city's streets ahead of bulls. On the final day, two Spaniards were also gored but not gravely injured. Over the past 116 years, at least 16 deaths have occurred during the runs.

Ten men were injured during the final bull run of Spain's San Fermin festival in Pamplona on Tuesday, bringing the total number of injuries for the event to 57. Among the injured were an 18-year-old with a thigh wound and a 46-year-old gored in the chest. Eight others, including an 86-year-old British man, sustained bruises. The Navarre regional government reported these injuries. The bull runs involve six fighting bulls and steers completing an 875-meter course in approximately two-and-a-half minutes, with their speed often surprising the over a thousand participants.
