World Economic Forum boss quits after review of Epstein links

World Economic Forum (WEF) President and CEO Borge Brende resigned after an internal review of his past connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The review was initiated following the release of Epstein files by the US Department of Justice. Brende acknowledged dining with Epstein three times between 2018 and 2019 and communicating with him, but stated he was unaware of Epstein's criminal history. The WEF review found no additional concerns beyond Brende's previous disclosures. Brende stated he was stepping down after eight years to avoid distractions for the organization. Alois Zwinggi will serve as interim president and CEO while a permanent successor is found.
