More Democratic lawmakers say Trump DoJ is investigating them over military video

Three more House Democrats, Jason Crow, Maggie Goodlander, and Chrissy Houlahan, have confirmed they are being investigated by the Justice Department regarding their participation in a November video about military duty. The video featured six Democratic lawmakers, all with military or intelligence backgrounds, reminding service members of their duty to disobey illegal orders. This brings the total number of lawmakers who have publicly confirmed contact with federal prosecutors to five, after Senator Elissa Slotkin revealed her investigation on Tuesday. The US attorney’s office for the District of Columbia, led by Jeanine Pirro, has requested interviews. The investigations follow criticism from Donald Trump, who called the video "seditious" and initially suggested severe penalties. Senator Mark Kelly was also censured by the Pentagon in January over the video.

Following the release of the video, President Trump accused the lawmakers of "seditious behaviour". An FBI inquiry was opened into the legislators, as well as Senator Mark Kelly, who also appeared in the video. The Defense Department has launched an investigation into Kelly, with potential consequences including a court-martial and demotion from his military rank.
