UK defends seizing shadow fleet tanker after Putin threat

Russian forces struck Ukraine's Izmail port in Odesa, causing damage and a fire, according to Ukrainian authorities. This attack follows Ukraine's reported strike on Russia's Novorossiysk port. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine faces a critical shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles, particularly for the upcoming winter. He indicated that Ukraine has only 1% of the necessary interceptors and requested the US to sell them 5% of its stock to survive the winter and 10% to counter all Russian ballistic missiles. Zelenskyy attributed the shortage to a diversion of Patriot interceptor supplies since the US and Israel began military operations in Iran in February.
