Projectile sinks Indian-flagged ship off Yemen coast
An Indian-flagged ship was sunk off the coast of Yemen after being hit by a projectile. All 14 crew members were safely rescued, according to India's ministry of external affairs. Yemen's transportation ministry, representing the internationally recognized government, accused Iran-backed Houthi fighters of carrying out the attack using an explosives-laden boat. The Houthis have not commented on the incident, but they previously announced a blockade on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea ports. This attack occurs amid heightened risks in the region, with the UK Maritime Trade Operations reporting several recent attacks on ships. Despite these events, oil prices recently fell due to hopes of a deal with Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
