Imran Khan’s family and party say Pakistan violated court order by taking him to government hospital
Imran Khan's family and his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), allege that Pakistani authorities violated a Supreme Court order by taking the imprisoned former Prime Minister to a government hospital for a medical examination instead of the court-designated private hospital. Khan's sister stated she was present when he was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, a government facility, while his personal physician waited at Shifa International Hospital. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed the move to the public hospital was due to security concerns, as PTI supporters had gathered outside the private hospital. Khan was reportedly found medically fit after the examination. Khan's family also reported that he complained of solitary confinement, which his sister described as mental torture. The government maintains that prison rules allow for transfers to government hospitals when necessary.
