Republican Sen. Jon Husted of Ohio says Rep. Max Miller should leave House and fall campaign
Ohio Republican Sen. Jon Husted has called for Rep. Max Miller to resign his House seat and withdraw from his fall reelection campaign. Husted stated that he believes stepping aside would be in the best interest of Miller's daughter, given his knowledge of Miller, his ex-wife Emily Moreno (daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno), and their child. Miller is facing an ethics investigation related to domestic abuse allegations from his ex-wife, which he denies. This call from Husted adds to existing pressure from both Democrats and some Republicans, including Sen. Bernie Moreno, who has also deemed Miller unfit to serve. Miller must withdraw by Saturday under Ohio law for a replacement to be considered for the November election.
