Driver arrested after Hungary bus crash kills 12 people, injures at least 10
A passenger bus carrying Polish tourists overturned on the M3 motorway near Mezokeresztes, Hungary, early Sunday morning, resulting in 12 fatalities and multiple injuries. The bus, traveling eastbound approximately 140km east of Budapest, veered off the road into a ditch. Police stated that the driver likely fell asleep, leading to the accident, and has since been taken into custody. The bus was carrying 57 passengers and two drivers, all of whom were Polish citizens returning from a pilgrimage. Several passengers were trapped under the overturned vehicle.
