Sonya Massey's killer Sean Grayson dies in US prison
Sean Grayson, the former US police officer convicted of second-degree murder in the 2024 shooting death of Sonya Massey, has died in prison at age 32. Grayson killed Massey, 36, at her Illinois home after she reported a suspected intruder. He claimed he fired because he believed she was about to throw boiling water at him. Massey's killing intensified discussions about police brutality in the United States. Grayson had been undergoing treatment for colon cancer. Lawyers for Massey's family stated that Grayson's death does not bring her back, while also offering prayers for his family.
